artist original £50 Garbage reclaimation at it's very best. The River of Lost Worlds and Abandoned Dreams is a photo quest of Inga Tillere's with accompanying text. There is a beautiful moment when out of the gloom and despondency of the afternoon two pink balloons appear dancing down the river. Indeed a very Tracy Moberly moment and certainly worth fifty pounds of anybodies money.
Pan Giant Paperback £5 Frank and intimate story told in all the right places. She dishes lots of dirt on her mad mother and starstruck sister but artfully glosses over some of the more unseemly facts of how she herself made it to the top. A great read all the same mainly in its account of how Vaudeville buckled under Cinema and gave way to Burlesque. Some fine evocative descriptions of American street life and character circa 1930. The Pan logo was created by Mervyn Peake. There you go, you mad Gormenghastian you. |
